Note: If you are not working on-site, you must connect to VPN to access these drives. ;)

  1. Open File Explorer by clicking this little icon if you see it.

If not, you can use this cool shortcut: Win + E. Hold the Windows key (between Ctrl and Alt) and press the E key at the same time.

  2. Click in the address bar, then type \\ndnxchange and press Enter on the trusty ol' keyboard. The backslashes are what we want rather than the forward ones.

  3. You should now see a list of shared folders on our network. Neat-o!
If it comes up with some error about "Windows cannot access": check the spelling, then make sure you are connected to SonicWall VPN if you're off-site. If you're at an NDN location, verify you aren't on the Guest network.

  4. Right-click the drive you would like to map and select Map network drive...
For this example, we're using Accounting, but you may want to select General if you are mapping your G: drive, M: would be Medical Records, and so on. The letters are arbitrary, so you could use anything at all if you're feeling adventurous!

  5. Select the drive letter to map the drive to in the drop-down and click Finish.

That's all! Job well done.

Optional Extra

You might also be interested in knowing that you can create a desktop shortcut.
Right click, select New > Shortcut, then type in the address to your folder the same way as it appeared in that previous screenshot. You can drag that shortcut anywhere you'd like, like your documents folder, and then even if the drive mapping comes undone, you can use the shortcut as a backup.
