As part of our continuing improvements to cybersecurity, we are adding multi-factor authentication to the VPN connections used for remote work (SonicWall Global VPN Client and SonicWall NetExtender).

 

There are 2 changes to how we will connect now no matter which method you use.

  1. Enter your email address instead of just your username in the Username field.
  2. An additional window will pop up to enter the authentication code.  This will code will be sent by Microsoft in the same way you access M365 services when off-campus.

 

Attached are the updated instructions for both GVC and NetExtender.


SonicWall Global VPN Instructions


Open the SonicWall Global VPN Client to view the connections.

Enable the connection to start the VPN connection process and wait for the window to Enter Username / Password

Enter your email address and Microsoft / Windows password.

When prompted, enter the Microsoft verification code you receive either through SMS text message or through your authenticator app (if applicable).

After a short time, the connection will complete and you will have access to the NDN campus resources.

SonicWall NetExtender Instructions

Open SonicWall NetExtender and select your connection, enter your email address and Microsoft / Windows password, and enter nevada.donor for the domain.

During the connection, you will be prompted to enter your Microsoft Verification code.  Enter the code provided by Microsoft either through SMS text message or from your authenticator app (if applicable).

The connection will complete and you will be able to access NDN campus resources.
